Ghana’s fastest rapper; Sarkodie, returned to the nursery where his talent was nurtured, after a successful tour in about seven (7) states in the United States of America.
The rapper who released a video for his latest hit single; “U go kill me” was a surprise guest at Adom Fm last night (22/10/2011) during Pope Skinny’s Adom Kasahare show. He was there together with a U.S based Ghanaian hip hop artiste; Lighter, who Sarkodie admitted had been very kind and helpful throughout the tour.
The studio was on fire, as Sarkodie and Lighter “killed” beats after beats while young and upcoming artistes who had come to exhibit their rap skills looked on and let out screams of excitement after every “punch line” from their mentor.
The Konvict Africa signee used this opportunity to clear the air about rumuors of a bottle that was allegedly thrown at him while he performed “Borga Borga”; his controversial hit single. The rapper stated that, the bottle was indeed thrown by a drunk person among the crowd for an unknown reason. However, the bottle hit DJ Mensa’s laptop and not his face as the rumours wrongly carried. He said, “Borga Borga” made my tour very successful and the fans were exciting also, some of them didn’t like the message it contained, but, generally, they liked the song”.
The rapper went on to say that, the song would have reflected the exact situation in the Diaspora if he had recorded it after this tour, saying, “I wrote the song without any experience with America, but the situation wasn’t very different, except that, it was a little worse than I was able to say in the song”.
The programme ended after a Beat Box battle between two talented young men who produced beats with their mouth. Everyone was excited, especially, the upcoming artistes who didn’t have the chance to rap on the night because Sarkodie and Lighter, took all the time; they were there, and they saw it all happen.

Ghanaian hiphop act and BET Awards nominee, D-Black has been dropping hints of possible collaborations with US rap stars on his Twitter page since visiting the US for the BET Awards and staying after to record with Ghanaian Billboard topping international music producer, Coptic among other things. It appears that the rapper and his Black Avenue Muzik (B.A.M) label is connecting with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Cash Money (YMCMB) label after both parties met up in L.A during the BET Awards.
D-Black recently tweeted about the YMCMB/B.A.M connection and his label’s youngest signee, Dee Moneey collaborating with Young Money’s Lil Chuckee. This collaboration between the youngest artists on both labels will be a follow up to Dee Moneey’s smash first single,“Kpokpo O Body”.
The B.A.M and Young Money Crew were spotted on the set of D-Black / Dee Moneey “Team Spirit” video shoot in Los Angeles where Lil Chuckee and Dee Moneey spoke about their new collaboration a music video in the works.
Black Avenue Muzik is surely connecting in various ways than one as D-Black is also set to drop a YMCMB Collaboration soon. Could it be with Drake, Mack Maine, Cory Gunz, Nicki Minaj or even Lil Wayne himself? It is also rumoured that D-Black and Dee Moneey are working with David Guetta on dance versions of some of their songs.
